Segrest Farms stocks a wide array of products, including marine corals and live rock, reptiles, amphibians, GloFish®, coldwater fish, and fish suited for freshwater tropical aquariums. The company also supplies saltwater invertebrates and fish, as well as live food. Segrest Farms prioritizes quality, selecting from sustainably collected and captive bred aquatic specimens. The firm’s leadership believes in ongoing improvement and works to ensure that the operation remains the world’s best wholesale aquarium fish distributor.
Segrest Farms began as a hobby for its founder. As a newlywed, he placed aquariums in every room of the home he shared with his wife. Later, he moved the fish tanks to the garage and began selling tropical fish to local pet shops. His research into the tropical fish trade convinced him that Florida was the best place for aquarium enthusiasts and fish farms. He and his wife secured teaching jobs and relocated. The Segrest Farms founder continued to sell aquarium fish on the side until one of his clients offered to buy all of the fish he raised. He immediately made the transition from hobbyist to full-time wholesaler. Today, Segrest Farms employs 127 people in Florida headquarters and supplies fish and other materials to more than 1,000 pet stores every week. The company’s founder considers himself blessed to have built a company that allows him to travel the world and spend every day doing the things that he most enjoys.
